THE “WORD” BECAME FLESH… WAS IT JESUS?

The religions believe that Jesus was in the form of the Holy Spirit and was with God at the time of Creation. Let us read what “the foreigner” reveals about it.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing
was made that has been made.
John 1:1-3 (NIV)

This is the truth. Then, they will tell their followers to read in:

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only,
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14 (NIV)

And they will say that Jesus is “The Word became flesh” - to make it appear that Jesus as the Word of God who became flesh, making him a god in form as part of the trinity.

If we are to properly read the verses, and define what really is the “Holy Spirit,” perhaps we can clearly see its true meaning and be able to discern whether the claim of the religions is true or not.

Let us start:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
John 1:1-3 (NIV)

Maestro says, since only part of the Story Creation is mentioned here, to fully understand what is written in the book of John, let us read about it in the Book of Genesis:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the
surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
Genesis 1:1-3 (NIV)

Indeed a “Spirit of God” is mentioned. What is the meaning of the "Spirit of God" that was on many waters?

Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.
The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.
Psalm 29:2-3 (NIV)

It is now clear that the "spirit" that was upon many waters is the voice or Word of God, not that God Himself is over many waters, as the religions have assumed.

To read again in:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the
surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

Before God creates things, He makes a decree. When God wants to do something He makes a decree on how it should happen, a blueprint for His actions. Maestro Eraño M. Evangelista says: if the apostles say something about Jesus, and God did not say something about it in the Bible, we should not expect it to happen.

God gives His commands first. His word has power to create whatever He wills or wants. It is not a separate entity from God. If we are to assume that the Word of God, together with the “son of God,” in the trinity doctrine of the religions – it is blasphemy and baseless, for in the Holy Bible there is no such teaching. Thus, the doctrine of the religions concerning the trinity is false.

To continue, let us put the first chapter of the Gospel of John in the right perspective:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made
that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men.
The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
John 1:1-5 (NIV)

Maestro says that without God’s Word or decree, nothing will be done; so if God wills it, it will surely happen.

There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John.
He came as a witness to testify concerning that light,
so that through him all men might believe.
John 1:6-7 (NIV)

 

“John” – the baptist, which the religions claim he was a prophet. What was his mission? No one knows. Because, Jesus was the only one sent to his people. Now according to the claim of the writer of this gospel: What will John the baptist say about Jesus?

He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
John 1:8 (NIV)

“He himself was not the light” – meaning, Jesus is not the true light. Jesus was to give witness to the true light, God.

The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.
John 1:9 (NIV)

"The true light" - In our time, it is God who is coming; not Jesus.

He was in the world, and though the world was made
through him, the world did not recognize him.
John 1:10 (NIV)

That is why up to our time, no one knew God’s Name.

He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he
gave the right to become children of God - children born not of natural
descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
John 1:11-13 (NIV)

This was the prophecy. What happened?

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory,
the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14 (NIV)

“The Word became flesh” – means, the prophecy given by God in Isaiah 7:13-15 was fulfilled with the coming of Jesus, who came from the house of David. His mission: To save his people, Israel, and to lead them back to God.
